Piedmont Opera is so grateful for the continued support of our many patrons at the individual and corporate level. Together, we have built a resilient opera company that, over its 49 seasons, has shimmered as a gem in the Triad’s cultural crown.
Funding for the arts at the federal directly effects organizations throughout North Carolina and specifically in our community including the North Carolina Arts Council and the Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County. These organizations, in turn, support local arts groups like Piedmont Opera through grants and operational funding. In the last five years alone, Piedmont Opera has lost $17,000 from these funding cuts with, sadly, more to come.
The recent withdrawal of federal funding directly impacts the resources available to state and local councils—limiting the grants and programs they can offer to organizations like Piedmont Opera.
