The lovers in Stephen Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music” are a little mixed up. Desiree loves Fredrik but is having an affair with Carl-Magnus who is married to Charlotte. Fredrik is married to Anne but may be in love with Desiree. Anne is clueless, and Henrik, Fredrik’s son who is just one year older than his step-mother, is frustrated.
But James Allbritten, artistic and general director, and Michael Shell, stage director, of the Piedmont Opera’s production, hint that everything will be sorted out in the end. The show opens Friday in the Stevens Center.
