Indeed, Figaro wants to marry his beloved Susanna. So what’s the delay? Why should a marriage ceremony take four acts? One person stands in the way – the lord of the manor and Figaro’s master, the Count. He will do his best keep the two apart, in order to fulfill his desire to conquer Susanna himself. Ultimately, true love will win the day for both Figaro and the Count, during the course of what Beaumarchais called the follies of a single day.

For over two hundred years, Mozart’s creation has remained one of the world’s most beloved operas. Come see why, as Piedmont Opera assembles a stellar cast to bring Mozart’s music to life. Steven LaCosse returns to Piedmont Opera as director for the first time since his highly praised production of Un ballo in maschera. A thrilling end to a thrilling season.

“LaCosse’s direction is calculated to turn everyone into opera fans.”
