Everyone’s favorite opera is La bohème, but what music might those bohemian lovers have heard in their Paris of the 1840s? And what music was being heard in Paris when Puccini was writing his beloved opera in the 1890s? The artists of Piedmont Opera will perform the answers to these questions singing beautiful songs and powerful arias from Bohemian Paris. Our concert will include music from Rossini’s Salon, and well as songs by Debussy, Bizet and many others.
“You can’t escape the past in Paris, and yet what’s so wonderful about it is that the past and present intermingle…” -Allen Ginsberg
